The Full Mitre Connector is designed for corner application when the landing is offset from the staircase. It is also used in any form of joint where a mitre is required as it has a outstanding range of angles from 80 – 180°.
To use a Full Mitre Connector, follow these steps:
- Measure and Cut:
Measure the angles where the two pieces of wood or handrail will meet, and then cut them at a 45-degree angle to create a mitered joint. - Align the Pieces:
Position the two mitered ends together, aligning them perfectly to form a seamless joint. - Apply Adhesive:
Apply a suitable wood adhesive or glue to the mitered edges to ensure a strong bond. - Insert the Full Mitre Connector:
Place the Connector inside the joint, ensuring that it fits snugly into the pre-cut slots or holes in both pieces. - Tighten the Connector:
Use a screwdriver or wrench to tighten the connector, pulling the two pieces tightly together and securing the joint. - Check the Joint:
Inspect the mitered joint to make sure it is flush and secure. Wipe away any excess adhesive.
By following these steps, you can successfully use a Full Mitre Connector to create a strong, precise mitered joint between two pieces of wood or handrail.
