Feature Treads & other types of tread
These can be added to your staircase build on our Stairbuilder
- Bullnose:
Feature a rounded edge on the front, creating a smooth, curved appearance. These are often used at the bottom of the staircase to give a more elegant and inviting look. - Curtail:
Include an extended or curved section at the side, often seen at the base of a staircase. Therefore, a grand, sweeping effect is created by this design, and is commonly used with a voluptuous handrail. - Winder Treads:
Designed to turn a corner or change the direction of the staircase. These triangular or trapezoidal treads allow for a more compact staircase layout and add visual interest. - Landing Treads:
Serve as a transition between flights of stairs, typically larger and flat. Consequently, they create a pause in the staircase and can add an architectural element to the design. - Tapered:
Narrow at one end and wider at the other, often used in curved or spiral staircases. They guide the user through the turn, enhancing the staircase’s flow and elegance. - Double Bullnose:
Have rounded edges on both sides, typically used on stairs that are open on both sides or at the start of a staircase to create a balanced, symmetrical look.
Each type of feature tread enhances the staircase’s functionality and aesthetics, allowing for a customized design that suits the overall style of the space. Its down to you to choose!
